Rylie

Hi friends, Lady Frye here.

First off, where does the time go? Does anyone else seem to be experiencing this as well? For those of you who said no to that question...well, be prepared to say yes.

2 years ago, I took Rylie's Senior Prom photographs (which seems seriously like yesterday). She's now a Junior in college already planning for her future career. Feeling that time go by fast thing I was talking about? Yeah, I thought so.

And wow, does she look the part! Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Rylie once again for some professional headshots and of course, fun portraits. Having gone through the undergraduate to graduate/professional process myself, I encouraged Rylie to take some photos with me that she could potentially use for her resume, as well as professional portfolio. You might be thinking, why outside? Great question! I much prefer natural light over perfectly-artificial lit studios. I also believe that an outdoor background is super inviting, which is exactly what we're going for. Before the shoot I told Rylie that with these headshots, we want to show her confident side, but also that she is warm and helpful as well. As a future therapist, we want to show the world that she is capable of anything she puts her mind to!

Any time I take photos of Rylie, I actually find myself just following her around with the camera. We've had a lot of practice together, but honestly this girl is just a natural.

And by a lot of practice, this is what I mean:

Prom 2015 Prom 2016

Prom 2017 College 2019

After headshots and a quick outfit change, we ventured out to find Lexsy. Our favorite golden retriever was born ready for her modeling career. Seriously, these two are a dream.

As per usual, Lexsy needs to be the first one down the stairs!

I kept joking with Rylie that if I didn't break a leg doing this shoot, that it would be a miracle. If there is a better angle, I'm gonna try to find it, even if that means standing on a pillar on one leg, and using one hand for my camera. Rylie said she should have been the one with the camera to show all of the ridiculous positions I was in. Anything for the photo, right? I am happy to report there were no casualties, including the giant snake that was lurking in the grass by the beach. Yes, we screamed.

I also loved the tops that Rylie chose. Especially this sweet floral shirt that made for a lovely boho-style look. Early spring colors are pretty hard to come by in Northern NH, and I adored the color that it added to the pictures.

I can usually choose a favorite photo from a session pretty easily, however this time, this surely isn't the case.

When I asked Ry if I could share these all with you as a blog post, I told her I would share a few... sorry kiddo. I'm having too much fun! Just one more for good measure.

We spent an hour playing outside, had a lot of fun, and captured some pretty great photos. I always used to feel uneasy calling my work "great" or saying that I have"beautiful pictures", but now I don't. I attribute all that is good in a photo to the people in it. And in this case I have gorgeous, smart, and successful photos thanks to miss Rylie. Anytime you want to be my model, I'll be there with my camera, Ry! Until next time, let's knock out your grad school application (;

Much love,

Lady Frye
